According to the Argentine vehicle manufacturers' association ADEFA, the country produced 37,029 units (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles) in June, up from 37,762 units in May.
Exports fell 11.3 percent to 22,373 units, while domestic sales rose 22.6 percent to 44,096 units, of which 14,311 units were produced in Argentina alone. which reflects the export-oriented model of the country's automobile industry.
Compared with June 2025, production in June 2026 was down 13.6 percent, exports were down 1.7 percent, and domestic sales were down 26.3 percent.
For the first half of 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, production was down 18.3 percent to 204 658 units, exports fell 2.1 percent to 126,693 units, and domestic sales fell 23.7 percent to 228,129 units.
According to Rodrigo Perez Graziano, president of ADEFA, at the end of the first half, local production continued the adjustment process, driven by the renewal of the product line to date and the maturity of projects associated with new investments. In this regard, Graziano noted that the local industry is operating at a slower pace of recovery compared to demand.
He added that six-month volume remains in contraction territory (-23.7 percent), with the projected recovery for the second half of the year depending mainly on financing conditions.
