Vietnamese steelmaker Hoa Phat Group announced sales results for the second quarter and first half of 2026.
The company produced more than 3.6 million tons of crude steel in the second quarter, up 48 percent year-on-year. Sales of construction steel products, high-quality steel coils, rolled hot steel and steel billets reached 3.5 million tons, which is 35 percent more than the same period last year. Of this amount, 1.3 million tons of construction steel and high-quality steel coils were produced, which is two percent more than last year. Hoa Phat Steel maintained its number one market share in Vietnam with 36 percent.
For HRC, sales in the second quarter reached 1.9 million tons, up 64 percent year-on-year. Currently, domestic consumption accounts for 80 percent of HRC's sales, with the rest being exported. Hoa Phat has exported HRC to 20 countries and territories in Asia, Europe, America and Africa. In the second quarter of 2026, the company sold 212,000 tons of steel pipes and 83,000 tons of galvanized steel.
In the first half of the year, Hoa Phat Group produced nearly seven million tons of crude steel, up 36 percent from the same period last year. Sales of HRC, construction steel, high-grade steel and steel billets reached 6.5 million tons, up 32 percent year over year.
In the first six months of the year, HRC sales reached nearly 3.4 million tons, up 57 percent year over year. During the specified period, the company also supplied to the market 453,000 tons of steel pipes, which is 13 percent more, and 189,000 tons of galvanized steel, which is 5 percent less than last year
