Chinese steel company Henan Jiyuan Iron & Steel has awarded Italy's Danieli a contract to supply a new four-strand arc-type continuous casting machine to its Jiyuan plant in Henan Province.
With a radius of 18.5 meters, the casting machine will produce round alloy steel blooms ranging from 600mm to 1300mm in diameter, mainly for applications in energy and maritime sectors. Danieli's scope of work includes the main caster equipment, as well as associated electrical and automation systems.
The new machine will be based on the double-strand caster delivered by Danieli to the same plant in 2023, including a redesigned copy plant design and two additional lines to increase productivity while maintaining product quality and operational reliability.
The caster is scheduled to go into operation in 2023. 2027.
