S. steel exports totaled $1.16 billion in May, compared with $1.15 billion in April and $1.08 billion in May 2025.
Steel exports to Mexico in May decreased by 3.3 percent from April and increased by 15.3 percent year-on-year to 386,485 tons, while exports to Canada increased by 2.0 percent month-on-month and decreased. 7.8 percent compared to May 2025 to 183,251 tons
Other major U.
S. steel export destinations in May included China with 5,346 tons, Brazil with 2,327 tons, and Australia with 1,713 tons
The main steel products exported in May include HDG in the amount of 110,894 tons, hot-rolled sheets - 47,123 tons, cut-off steel sheets - 74,806 tons, cold-rolled sheets - 67,067 tons, rolled sheets - 42,913 tons.
