Sweden's SSAB posted higher financial results for the first half of 2026 on the back of higher prices and supplies

Swedish special steel manufacturer SSAB has published financial and operating results for the first half of this year.

The company reported a net profit of SEK 3.68 billion ($379.01 million) in the first half of the year, compared with a net profit of SEK 2.98 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. The company's sales revenue for the period amounted to 52.82 billion Swedish crowns ($5.43 billion), an increase of 3.2 percent year-on-year. During the same period, the company reported an operating profit of SEK 4.89 billion ($503.8 million), compared with an operating profit of SEK 3.49 billion recorded in the first half of last year. The increase is due to higher prices and higher supplies

Meanwhile, in the first six months of this year, SSAB steel production increased by 3.3 percent to 4.05 million tons, while finished steel production totaled 3.75 million tons, up 2.6 percent from last year. Steel shipments in the specified period also increased by 3.3 percent year-on-year to 3.49 million tons.
