Indian commercial and passenger car manufacturer Tata Motors Limited has expanded its car recycling network by commissioning a new facility in Patna, in the eastern state of Bihar, the company said in a statement released on Tuesday, August 4.
The company is designed to recycle 15,000 registered end-of-life vehicles of all categories and brands, the statement said.
The company uses separate dismantling processes depending on the type of vehicle. Commercial vehicles, two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles are processed at cellular-type dismantling stations, while passenger vehicles are processed using a linear-type dismantling system..
With the advent of Patna, Tata Motors now has 12 car recycling centers across India. Tata Motors said its recycling network can collectively dismantle about 200,000 end-of-life vehicles per year.
