Exports of pig iron and steel from Colombia decreased by 30.9% in the first half of 2026%

In the first half of this year, Colombia exported 37,089 tons of ferronickel, which is 45.6% less, worth 119.71 million dollars, which is 47.8% less than last year, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia (DANE). In June alone, Colombia's ferronickel exports totaled 3,936 tons, down 68.3 percent, and totaled $12.11 million, down 70.1 percent year-on-year

Between January and June of this year, Colombian exports of pig iron and steel totaled 88,532 tons, down 30.9 percent to $215.77 million, down 34.7 percent from last year. In June alone, Colombian exports of pig iron and steel totaled 16,109 tons, down 24.1 percent to $31.31 million, down 43.6 percent from the same month in 2025.
