In July of this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 23.1% month-on-month and by 25.0% year-on-year to 80,786 units, according to statistics released by the Turkish Automobile Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the current month, sales of passenger cars in the Turkish domestic market decreased by 25.8% year-on-year and by 25.6% month-on-month to 62,478 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 13.1 percent year-on-year and by 22.2 percent compared to the previous month to 18,308 units.
Between January and July of this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles decreased by 10.7 percent year-on-year, amounting to 638,965 units. During the specified period, sales of passenger cars in the domestic market in the country fell by 12.1 percent to 502,712 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 5.1% to 136,253 units year-on-year.
