The Indian company Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has commissioned a 72.5 megawatt (MW) solar power plant project in the state of Rajasthan to provide electricity to Tata Steel Limited, the company said in a statement on Thursday, August 27.
On Thursday, August 22, the company's electricity generated by the solar power plant will be supplied to Tata Steel through TP Vardham Surya, a subsidiary of TPREL, the statement said.
" The project contributes to the development of Tata Steel. the decarbonization process and the strengthening of TPREL's contribution to the development of renewable energy sources in India," the report says..
With the implementation of this project, TPREL's total renewable energy capacity has reached 12.3 gigawatts (GW). Of these, about 7 GW (5.7 GW of solar energy and 1.3 GW of wind energy) are in operation, while about 5.3 GW are in various stages of implementation, including 2.2 GW of solar energy and 3.1 GW of wind energy.
