According to the Chinese customs authorities, for the period from January to July of this year, imports and exports of stainless steel in China amounted to 871,200 tons and 2.4498 million tons, which is 3.25% and 16.0% less year-on-year, respectively.
In July alone, stainless steel imports and exports to China totaled 116,400 tons and 391,400 tons, respectively, down 3.16% from the previous month and 13.21% from the previous month, with an increase of 59.45% and a decrease of 6.0% year-on-year, respectively.
In the first seven months, the net export volume of stainless steel from China amounted to 1.5786 million tons, which is 21.69% less than last year.
In July alone, China's net stainless steel exports totaled 275,000 tons, a decrease of 19.87% compared to the same period last year.
In July, China's apparent stainless steel consumption was 3.0073 million tons, up 0.98% from the previous month.
