Polish JSW reduced its net loss in the second quarter of 2026 amid sales revenue growth

Polish coking coal producer Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA (JSW) has announced its financial and operating results for the second quarter and the first half of this year.

The company recorded a net loss of 427.5 million Polish zlotys ($109.7 million) in the second quarter of 2026 amid difficult market conditions and lower prices for coking coal. JSW's net loss decreased compared to a net loss of PLN 615.9 million in the first quarter due to increased sales revenue. JSW's sales revenue increased by 7.1% compared to the first quarter of 2026, reaching almost 2.3 billion Polish zloty ($590.2 million). The company's EBITDA for the second quarter of this year amounted to 51.8 million zlotys ($13.3 million).&Евро;

JSW ended the first half of 2026 with a net loss of 1.04 billion ($266.9 million), half the amount recorded in the same period last year. Despite this loss, the results of the first half of the year demonstrate the initial results of restructuring measures aimed at stabilizing the financial position and continuously improving the efficiency of JSW Group. The company's revenue from sales decreased by 5.8% and amounted to more than 4.3 billion Polish zlotys (1.10 billion US dollars).

In the second quarter of this year, the company produced more than 3.2 million tons of coal, which corresponds to the level of the first quarter. During the same period, coke production decreased by 10.9%, amounting to just under 700,000 tons. However, in the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year, there was an increase in production of both coal and coke. Coal production increased by 4.2% to 6.5 million tons, and coke production increased by 1.1% to 1.4 million tons.

Coal sales to external consumers in the second quarter of this year amounted to more than 2.05 million tons, an increase of 8.7% compared to the first three months of 2026. Coke sales reached almost 700,000 tons during the reporting period, a decrease of 10.7%.
