ArcelorMittal Poland is modernizing the dust collection system at the agglomeration plant in Dombrowa Górnice

ArcelorMittal Poland has announced its intention to invest about 60 million Polish zlotys ($15.34 million) in the modernization of the dedusting system at the sinter plant in Dombrowa Górnice in order to reduce dust emissions and improve working conditions.

Work on the project will begin this year, and it is planned to be completed in the first quarter of 2028. After the upgrade, dust emissions into the atmosphere are expected to decrease below 5 mg/nm3 in the sinter sorting area and below 10 mg/nm3 at the outlet of the sinter belts and around the dust and lime storage bins.

New bag filters to replace existing equipment for обеспыливания

As part of the project, the existing electrostatic precipitator at the sinter sorting plant will be replaced with a new bag filter that will ensure dedusting of the entire building. The company is also upgrading the internal dedusting system of the pipelines and installing four new compact bag filters for dust and lime bins.

Meanwhile, in January, ArcelorMittal Poland began upgrading sintering belts No. 1 and No. 3. The project, worth almost 7 million Polish zloty ($1.79 million), aims to ensure the supply of charge for blast furnace No. 3, while increasing sintering efficiency, product quality and occupational safety, as well as reducing the risk of production stoppage.

Wojciech Kossuth, Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Poland, said that since last year, the company will spend a total of more than 100 million Polish zloty ($25.57 million) on projects implemented at the sinter plant in Dombrowa Górnice, as part of efforts to reduce environmental impacts and improve working conditions.
