The European Commission approved the introduction of preliminary anti -dumping duties on the import of steel wire from India in response to complaints of manufacturers from Italy, Germany and Spain. It is reported by Reuters.
State support provided by the government of India to the domestic manufacturer, as well as an aggressive policy of selling steel wire with Indian traders in the European market, allowed European manufacturers to declare dumping.
The European Commission began to investigate the circumstances of this case in August 2012, after a complaint of the German Hagener Feinstahl, the Spanish Inoxfil and the Italian Rodacciai, which declared themselves injured from unlawful intelligence and 50 percent growth of Indian imports from 2007 to 2011.
Indian companies that are the pursuit of European officials: KEI Industries and Mukand Ltd.
As Eurofer in the European Metallurgical Association stated in connection with this: “Prices for steel imports from India remained constantly lower than import prices from other countries.”
Duties came into force on May 9, 2013 and will operate over the next five years.
