According to data released by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance, in September this year, exports of pig iron and steel from Taiwan increased by 11.7% year-on-year and reached $1.34 billion. In the same month, imports of pig iron and steel to the country amounted to 779.16 million dollars, a decrease of 18.3% compared to the same period last year.
In the first nine months of this year, exports of cast iron and steel from Taiwan decreased by 4.3% and amounted to 10.78 billion dollars. The cost of importing pig iron and steel into the country during this period reached $8.11 billion, which is 7% less than a year earlier.
