Vietnamese steel manufacturer Hoa Phat Group has announced production and sales results for the third quarter and first nine months of the current year 2026.
In the third quarter, the company's crude steel production increased by three percent compared to the previous quarter. to 3.7 million tons, while sales of construction steel, high-quality wire rod, hot-rolled coil (HRC) and steel billets totaled 3.8 million tons, up eight percent from the previous quarter and up 54% year-on-year.
During the reporting period, sales of Hoa Phat HRC exceeded two million tons, an increase of eight percent compared to the previous quarter and 64 percent year-on-year. Exports accounted for 24.6% of the company's total HRC sales during the quarter, with products exported to 26 countries and territories. At the same time, sales of construction steel and high-quality wire rod exceeded 1.3 million tons in the third quarter, up two percent quarter-on-quarter and 26 percent year-on-year. Sales of steel billets increased by 42% compared to the previous quarter and amounted to 383,000 tons.
Regarding secondary products, the sales volume of Hoa Phat steel pipes in the third quarter was 228,000 tons, while sales of coated steel reached 118,000 tons, and sales of prestressed steel amounted to about 64,500 tons.
Between January and September, Hoa Phat's crude steel production increased by 35 percent year-on-year to 10.7 million tons, and its sales of the above-mentioned steel products increased by 39% to 10.3 million tons
In the first nine months, Hoa Phat's HRC sales increased by 59% year-on-year to 5.47 million tons, accounting for more than half of the company's total sales from the four main categories of steel products. During the same period, sales of construction steel and high-quality wire rod increased by 15% year-on-year, with annual sales exceeding 4 million tons, and sales of steel billets increased by 69% to 811,000 tons.
Between January and September, the company's steel pipe sales increased nine percent year-on-year to 681,000 tons, while coated steel sales decreased four percent to more than 307,000 tons. Sales of pre-tensioning steel increased by 66% to over 192,000 tons
