British Steel, a British steel producer, stressed the importance of domestic steel production to support the country's construction industry, infrastructure development and industrial growth, highlighting expectations that steel demand will grow over the next 20 years.
The company participated in an event at Parliament House this week, organized to highlight the contribution of construction steel to the development of the UK economy. The event was attended by members of the British Steel Association (BCSA), contractors, clients and members of Parliament, including Minister for Reindustrialization Blair Макдугалл.

Speaking at the event, Lisa Coulson, Technical Director of British Steel, highlighted the strategic importance of steel production for infrastructure, the economy and national sustainability.
Coulson stated that British Steel has a path to a sustainable and long-term future, and stressed the importance of ensuring that the growing domestic demand for steel is met by British steel producers, contractors and manufacturers.
According to the company, British-made steel supports a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects, including buildings, schools, hospitals, and transportation production facilities.
British Steel also stressed the importance of cooperation between metallurgists, manufacturers, construction companies and other stakeholders in strengthening internal supply chains.

During the event, Coulson highlighted the potential for collaboration across the entire internal steel value chain to support the UK's reindustrialization efforts.
She stated that the industry should work to create a competitive, low-carbon and resilient steel industry capable of supporting future infrastructure and manufacturing projects.
Phil Knowles, British Steel's Commercial Director for Construction, also confirmed the company's commitment to highlighting the contribution of British steel and processing companies to the construction industry.
