In January–August 2026, the UK became the largest market for welded pipes from Turkey, overtaking Romania.

According to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August of this year, exports of welded pipes from Turkey amounted to 198,906 metric tons, an increase of 92.0 percent compared to July and 7.3 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, revenue from these exports amounted to 179.86 million dollars, an increase of 82.4% compared to the previous month and by 19.5% year-on-year.

In January-August, during the reporting period, exports of welded pipes from Turkey amounted to 1.30 million tons, a decrease of 0.9%, while the value of these exports decreased by 2.1% to $1.11 billion year-on-year.

The UK became the largest exporter of welded pipes to Turkey in the period from January to August, shipments increased by 85.4% in year-on-year to 210,854 tons. Romania took second place with 207,178 million tons, down 2.3 percent, while exports to the United States increased by 213.5 percent to 74,688 tons, moving the country to third place. Shipments to Belgium also increased by 12.3% to 67,663 tons, while exports to Croatia and Greece increased by 175.1% and 74.1%, respectively.

In comparison, exports to Germany decreased by 46.3 percent, while shipments to Italy and Morocco decreased by 27.9 percent and 28.6 percent, respectively. In August, total exports of welded pipes increased by 7.3% year-on-year and by 92.0% month-on-month to 198,906 tons, driven by high shipments to the UK, USA and Romania. Overall, Turkey's exports remained generally stable in January-August, while the market structure shifted towards the United Kingdom and the United States and towards some traditional destinations such as Germany, Italy and Morocco.
