The MB Shah Commission investigated the illegal production of raw materials on Indian mines in Odisha. 45 criminal cases were registered against the owners of private iron ore and manganese mines in the Koida mining sector for violation of environmental norms.
Administrative sources said that the process of investigating cases began in March and took place in two stages. However, the process initially faced the unwillingness to cooperate Dilly, the director of the Koida Sn Sahoo mining sector. After a long clarification of the facts, he finally provided an incomplete list of unscrupulous mine owners.
The list was prepared in such a way that it was difficult to determine the wandering owners of mines, and their whereabouts. The process advanced only after the prosecutor, using all kinds of sources of information, tried to collect the entire chain. Sources also said that several mining companies began to develop minerals in Koida without obtaining a special permission, while others continued to raise ores despite the expiration of the contract and without environmental environmental cleaning.
Similar cases were instituted against SDJM Sundargar, and two other cases were considered in the Panposh SDJM court and charged against their owners. Before the work of the commission team, most of the 71 mines in Koida were closed for violation of established environmental standards. Currently, about two dozen minute mines are in operation. The commission continues the investigation and hopes to bring it to the Donets.
