Indian machine builders require a zero fee on stainless steel

Manufacturers of machines and capital goods in the country demanded a zero duties on the import of stainless and special steels due to the sharp devaluation of Indian rupees.

He said that "the duty on these products was introduced by the government on the basis of unreasonable anti -dumping applications submitted by Jindal Stainless limited to get a monopoly. We require a complete investigation of the collection of various anti -dumping duties by the Ministry of Trade and Industry by the will of one manufacturer over the past few years.

The company wants to have a complete monopoly and is currently selling its low -quality products in the country and continues to demand to expand the sphere of anti -dumping duties on an import of flat steel of less than 600 mm and over 1250 mm. ”

He said that "we are manufacturers of equipment for the critical segment of infrastructure and are the end users of specific brands and stainless steel sizes for catering enterprises, energy (oil and gas), desalination, atomic energy, automotive industry, and chemical industries.

In the conditions of an ongoing reduction in the Indian currency in relation to the dollar, we have to import products corresponding to international quality standards that are not produced in India and, therefore, the introduction of duty is problematic for us. ”
