The Government of Ukraine expects a record growth in export according to the results of 2013

In 2013, the largest export indicator over the past 17 years is predicted in Ukraine, today the government portal of the country reports. By the end of the year, railways will be transported by about 150 million tons of cargo compared to 141 million tons last year. At the same time, the volume of transit transportation will decrease in an annual comparison by 20 percent and will be 33.5 million tons, the forecast for imports - at the level of last year, domestic transportation will be reduced by 5 percent.

“In 2013, with the aim of developing the industry infrastructure, railway workers modernized 264 km of the railway track with 229.6 km planned, concluded 88 new turnouts, and replaced 128 sets of turnouts. Railway workers are working on projects for the electrification of the railway directions of Volnovak - Kamysh -Zarya - Zaporozhye and Dolinskaya - Nikolaev - Kolosovka. The aim of these projects is to electrify and modernize the alarm and communication systems in the indicated areas to ensure the growing volumes of transportation, energy conservation during transportation by rail and reduce operational expenses, ”the state administration of railway transport of Ukraine said.
