Tata Steel will increase the cost of varietal rental

In the period from January to March 2014, the Indian division of Tata Steel intends to increase prices for its products. It is assumed that this increase will affect all types of varietal rental produced by the Tata Steel unit.

It is important to note that the coming rise in price of varietal rolling is not the first in recent years. So, from November to December 2013, the cost of these products increased by 2-3 thousand rupees per ton, which has already affected the cost of products of companies selling spare parts sdlg and other metal-intensive Car parts.

In addition to the increase in prices, in the first quarter of 2014, the Tata Steel Indian division plans to send most of its metal products for export. On this occasion, the general manager of the unit T.V. Narendran stated the following: “Only thanks to export can we secure ourselves opportunities for effective development in the future.”

In addition, T.V. Narendran noted that in the conditions of falling demand in the Indian domestic market and reducing the rupee with respect to the dollar, the export of metal products will become the main source of profit for the Indian division of Tata Steel.

At the same time, according to Narendran, usually from January to March there is an increase in demand for metal products, so its sale abroad promises to be especially profitable.

In turn, the sale of steel products in the domestic market of India no longer makes much sense for Tata Steel. If earlier, when 55 rupees were given for the dollar, she could make a profit, then at a course of 65 rupees per dollar of sales in the domestic market they lose all attractiveness.
