The leaders of Arcelormittal announced that the company plans to resume the work of its object in Harriman, Tennessi, which was closed in 2011 due to poor market conditions.
The company announced that the enterprise would again open by April 2014 again, and is going to hire another 61 new employee over the next two years.
The object will produce various steel products used in the construction and in the production of KKS wells. Venkataramanan, Chief Executive Director of Arselormital North America, said that the company will supply blanks from the partner company in Laplace, Louisiana, to the Harriman facility, where they will make light structural forms and varietal rental for the construction market.
“We look forward to when, together with the organization of united steel workers, the object is safely restarting, which will allow us to start producing high -quality steel products to Harriman to provide the best offers for our customers,” added Venkataramanan.
The Commissioner of Economic and Public Development of Tennessee Bill Headeri said: “We are making every effort to help companies to conduct production activities in our state, but when a company such as Arcelormittal has the opportunity to restart their activities, this gives the community enormous hopes for the revival of the economy and a new impulse to achieve new goals.
