In the case of illegal extraction of iron in the Indian state of Orissa, 25 people are accused

The court of the Kendujhar district, located in the Indian state of Oriss, accused 25 people of organizing illegal iron ore mining. The main accused in this case is the Dipak Mohanti, who was the head of the mine Urebur, in which illegal mining of minerals took place. The damage from the activities of Mohanti and his accomplices was estimated at billions of Rupia. According to Ural-Kub, this money could be purchased by a huge amount of motor oil I-12A .

According to Indian law enforcement agencies, in the period from 2003 to 2009, 6.5 million tons of iron ore with a total value of 15.2 billion rupees (245.5 million US dollars) were illegally mined in the ulyubur mine. In turn, taking into account not paid duties, the losses of the Indian economy from the activities of attackers amounted to 15.23 billion rupees ($ 246.1 million).

Regarding the case of the illegal extraction of iron ore in the mine, Uhburu Shashibkhushan Mishra, holding the post of superintendent of the Indian police of the Kendujhar district, said the following:

“Since it became known that high -ranking officials are related to illegal extraction of iron, during the investigation there have been many difficulties. Nevertheless, the investigation continues, and all the culprits of the crime will certainly be found. ”

In addition to 25 direct organizers of illegal extraction of iron ore, during the investigation, 26 Indian officials were also involved in this case. Due to the fact that the mine Lyburu was in a wooded area, two of the arrested employees were employees of Indian forest protection organizations.

Despite the fact that the investigation has been conducted for several years, only now all the accused of illegal extraction of iron ore managed to put on the bench of the defendants. Currently, the police are looking for officials related to illegal business.

Recall that during the investigation the police uses the materials of the Indian Department of Steel and Mine (Department of Steel & Mines), the Forestry Department, as well as information from employees of the State Revenue Service.
