China forced the construction of nickel -processing capacities in Indonesia

Chinese companies accelerate plans for the construction of capacities for refining nickel ore and obtaining nickel in ingots (flaps).After the prohibition on the removal of unprocessed ore, entrepreneurs will have to establish the production of nickel cast iron directly in Indonesia.A 4 percent nickel-containing cast iron is the main raw material for Chinese manufacturers of the 200th grade stainless steel, 15 % cast iron is the basis of 304 stainless steel grade, which is used in the automotive industry.According to Chinese businessmen, the construction and commissioning of the first domain furnaces capable of producing 4 percent nickel cast iron are possible in the second half of 2014.It will be more difficult with 15 percent, but work is already underway.In anticipation of the prohibition of the export of Indonesian nickel, China created a reserve of oxidized nickel ores in the amount of more than 40 million tons, which, according to experts, should be enough for the whole of 2014.
