Fine Tubes, the leading British manufacturer and global distributor of pipes used in critical conditions, currently produces seamless titanium tubes for Airbus and liebherr.
The company is one of the few manufacturers of this type of product. The pipes will be used for high -pressure hydraulic systems necessary for Airbus A380 and for high -rise transfer systems developed and produced by liebherr for A350 XWB, which plan to put into operation in 2014.
The use of titanium significantly reduces weight, providing good properties of heat transfer and corrosion resistance than steel alloys. Seamless pipes, as a rule, surpass the welded products in terms of high pressure stability and the occurrence of phenomenon of fatigue when using combinations of various processing processes required in accordance with the specifications of customers, such as Airbus and liebherr.
Pavel Mallet, the development manager of the Fine Tubes business for the aerospace industry, commented on: “The advantages that titanium offers in terms of weight and strength make it ideal material for use in the aircraft applications and we observe a certain expansion of its products for the final users of the nuclear, medical, oil and gas and petrochemical industries.
The company also supplied cooling pipes for a large Adron Collider in Cern. High -class seamless tubes require a certain level of knowledge for their production, which Fine Tubes has acquired from the moment of its creation in 1940. "
