The Chinese National Coal Association predicts that the production of coal in the PRC until the end of 2014 will increase by 2.7 percent to 3 billion 800 million tons. At the same time, the demand for it will continue to increase, despite China announced by the Chinese government to reduce harmful emissions from thermal power plants.
The Association is confident that the government’s efforts to limit import and use low -grade coal, the import of coal into the territory of the PRC in 2014 will be 300 million tons. Including due to the fact that foreign proposals remain more attractive. Air pollution causes the growing concern of China leaders, and Beijing plans to reduce the share of coal in its energy balance to 65 percent, compared with 65.7 percent last year.
However, the general demand for energy continues to grow, and analysts still expect that the absolute demand for coal in China will grow by 2 to 3 percent per year over the next 5 years.
Coal mining in China will grow in 2014 by 2.7 percent
