Demz still belongs to the Russian swordsman

The deal between Mechel and Vadim Varshavsky for the sale of the Donetsk electrometallurgical plant remained not closed. This is written today by the publication "Kommersant" with reference to its own sources.

As reported, in August 2013, Mechel announced the sale of a Donetsk asset to the structures of Vadim Warsaw for 2 thousand euros, provided that DEMZ repay the current debt to the company in the amount of $ 81 million by the end of 2014. However, it was not possible to close the deal before the end of the year. Warsaw, who received operational control over the plant, resumed the production of steel at DEMZ in September. But on January 16 of this year, production was stopped simultaneously with the change of general director of the plant. The Russian businessman was not able to find money for calculations with the “swordsman” and providing the plant with working capital, says the Kommersant source.

Currently, Mechel continues to look for a buyer for Ukrainian DEMZ. Igor Zyuzin is negotiating with three applicants - “KVV groups” Valery Krishtal and Evgeny Kazmin, “Ukrmet” by Andrei Kiselev and “Donetskstal” by Viktor Nusenkis.
