Ukrainian exports of steel to Russia showing stability and further prospects for growth

During 2013, the steel exports of Ukraine to the Russian Federation reached 3.52 million tons, which indicates the absence of significant changes in the amount of steel products supplied over the past three years (2011-1013).

In the assortment of products imported by Russia, a shaped and varietal rental prevails, which accounts for 56 percent of the total steel exports of Ukraine. In 2013, the export volume of these products increased by 21.6 percent in relation to last year. At the same time, more than half of this volume is construction reinforcement, about which you can submit an ad in the bags and the export of which increased by almost 40 percent.

Flat rental is a third of Ukrainian steel exports to Russia. At the same time, the volumes of flat rental supplies for 2013 decreased by 35 percent compared to a year earlier. At the same time, sweatplace steel is 20 percent of this volume, which indicates a decrease in supplies in an annual comparison by 34 percent. Import to Russia of steel pipes, Ukrainian production, also decreased by almost 30 percent, amounting to about 26 percent of the total supply.

In 2014, Ukraine expects an increase in the export of metallurgy products, the main export industry of the country, by 500 thousand tons. This is planned to be achieved by increasing deliveries to the countries of the Middle East and Africa. In addition, certain hopes are assigned to expand cooperation with Russia and increase the exports of steel products in this direction.
