MMK named after Ilyich will supply shipbuilding steel to the American market

The Ilyich’s name, which is part of the Metinvest group, was tested by the quality of continuous slabs and shipbuilding sheet rental by the ABS Europa Division inspection in Ukraine, as a result of which will receive certificates of compliance with the American Bureau of Shipping.

Certificates of compliance with the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping (American shipping office) were extended for five years for sheet shipbuilding with an increase in thicknesses up to 52 mm, and for continuous slabs were confirmed for the first time. In the process of verification, the inspection was visited by a leaflet workshop 3000, a converter shop, a chemical and mechanical laboratories, a technical department and a quality control department.

Certificates of compliance with the requirements of the American shipping bureau allow the Ilyich MMK over the next five years to supply the American shipbuilding brand (a, b, d, e), as well as increased strength (Ah32, Ah36, Dh32, Dh36, Eh32, Eh36).

In addition, the obtained certificates give the right to simplify the process of acceptance of shipbuilding steel of the AB/A brand with a thickness of up to 52 mm. The shipment procedure of steel made according to the ABS rules does not require the presence of a representative of the certification company, which will significantly reduce the delivery time of products to the customer.

During the audit, they were first certified in accordance with the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping slabs, from which sheet shipbuilding was made. This will allow the Ilyich name to expand sales markets and significantly simplify the shipment of products, which will provide the company with higher competitiveness at the international level.
