Tejas Tubular Products Inc has announced that it is going to build a plant in Norfolk, Nebraska, which will create 200 jobs for Madison County over the next few years. The company, which makes pipelines and housings for the transportation and drilling of oil and gas, announced that it plans to begin construction on a new site of 350,000 square meters. meters this year.
The products will be widely used for the extraction of hydrocarbons from shale in the Bakken fields in North Dakota and Montana. The construction of the plant will cost more than $ 100 million and will be completed according to forecasts in the third quarter of 2015.
The Norfolk Mayor said the city has worked closely with Tejas Tubular Products, especially in the area of energy supply. In addition to job creation, a new natural gas line, approximately 50 km long, will be built in northeastern Nebraska. The line will increase natural gas supplies by more than 50 percent and will be connected to the interstate gas pipeline at the Northern Gas Company.
This line will serve the needs of the new company in addition to the capacity of other projects. Natural gas supplies in this part of the state have been problematic for 10 years. The exact route has not yet been established, but it is determined in accordance with the rules of industrial and civil energy supply. In addition, the company is investing $ 1.4 million in the Norfolk City Construction Sector Development Fund.
