Van Leeuwen enters the Brazilian market through the acquisition of Tubexpress

The Van Leeuwen Pipe Group has acquired the Brazilian company Tubexpress, which supplies pipes and pipes for the petrochemical, oil and gas industries. The deal took effect from January 2014.

Van Leeuwen's strategy is to expand and strengthen its market position in a number of countries and industrial segments by increasing the specialization and geographical presence of the company. The Brazilian acquisition is in line with a growth strategy.

Tubexpress was founded in 1990 in Brazil and is a joint stock holding distributor offering high quality products in accordance with ISO 9000 standards and has extensive knowledge and experience in the oil and gas market. The company has two branches in Brazil in Osasca and São Carlos in the state of São Paulo.

Mario Zupo, founder of Tubexpress, will transfer day-to-day responsibilities but remain an active member for the next two years to ensure a smooth transition and further expansion of the business. With Tubexpress in Brazil, Van Leeuwen will primarily enter the international energy market in the oil and gas segment.
