Mariupol Iron and Steel Works Azovstal in January 2014 reduced steel production compared to January 2013 by 11.3 percent to 346 thousand tons, pig iron - by 11.7 percent - to 298 thousand tons and reduced the output of finished rolled products by 18.6 percent - up to 306 thousand tons. At the same time, the metallurgical plant did not produce sinter due to the closure (thanks) of the sinter plant.
As reported, in December 2013 Azovstal produced 314 thousand tons of general rolled metal, 333 thousand tons of steel and 286 thousand tons of pig iron. The plan for January provided for the smelting of 373 thousand tons of steel and 328 thousand tons of pig iron.
In February 2014, the metallurgical plant plans to smelt 360 thousand tons of steel and 309 thousand tons of pig iron.
Recall that at the end of 2013, Azovstal increased the production of general rolled products by 0.4 percent to 4 million 186 thousand tons, reduced steel production by 2.7 percent to 4 million 468 thousand tons and reduced pig iron production by 4.4 percent up to 3 million 849 thousand tons.
