According to the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the export of reinforcing steel from the country in 2013 decreased significantly. According to TUIK, Turkey exported 8 million 280 thousand tons of rebar last year, which is 2.8 percent less than in 2012.
The largest consumer of Turkish reinforcing steel in 2013 was Iraq, whose companies purchased more than 1 million 570 thousand tons of rebar, which is 23.62 percent more than in 2012. The second largest importer was the United Arab Emirates with 1 million 50 thousand tonnes, up from 550 thousand tonnes in 2012.
In addition, the price of export Turkish rebar in 2013 decreased by 6.63 percent and amounted to $ 586.585 per tonne at the end of last year. Recall that the average prices for rebar from Turkey in 2012 were at $ 628.227 per ton.
