In January 2014, the Kryvyi Rih Metallurgical Plant of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih melted 375,500 tons of steel, which is 30 percent less than in January 2013. The production of finished rolled products decreased by 28.8 percent, and the production of pig iron - by 29.5 percent.

"Due to the tight schedule of repairs in January 2014, the production level at PJSC" ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih "was reduced, but already from January 25, we restored the level of production in full," said Deputy General Director for Production of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" »Paramjit Kalon.
He specified that blast furnace No. 9, which is the largest metallurgical unit of the metallurgical plant, was shut down in early January. In parallel, the enterprise also carried out repairs of converter No. 4, blooming shop No. 2 and sintering machine No. 2 of sinter shop No. 2. In addition, on January 24, 2014, the scheduled repairs of the rotary kiln No. 5 of the refractory-lime shop began.
