The development of new standards for the design, production and installation of metal structures is nearing completion

Within the framework of the work of the Committee for normative and technical activities of the Ukrainian Center for Steel Construction (USSS), projects of a new version of the DBN for the design of metal structures, as well as DSTU for the production and installation of metal structures have been developed.

National standards (Installation of metal structures - technical requirements. Execution of steel and aluminum structures - requirements for conformity assessment of structural components. Execution of steel and aluminum structures - technical requirements for steel structures) were developed in accordance with world practice as mandatory additions to the new DBN for the design of steel structures ... The new DSTU took into account certain provisions of European standards, determine the requirements for assessing the conformity of indicators for the characteristics of steel and aluminum components of structures, and also establish requirements for the performance of load-bearing steel structures.

“The renewal of building regulations is a significant step towards the introduction of innovative technologies in the field of steel construction,” says Roman Kurashev, Managing Director of the USCC. - In the new norms and standards, we tried to take into account all the advanced developments that have already come to Ukraine, but have not yet been enshrined in the regulatory framework. These include the use of new high-strength steel grades and corrugated-web beams (SIN-beams), which can significantly reduce the metal consumption in construction. The issue of regulatory and technical regulation of the design of light steel thin-walled structures (LSTC) is planned to be fully resolved within the framework of the launch of the Eurocodes system from July 1, 2014 ".

An expert discussion of DSTU projects for the production and installation of steel structures will take place in Kiev on February 25 within the framework of the Committee for Normative and Technical Activities of the USCC, headed by Vladimir Adrianov, Deputy General Director of Ukrinstalkon named after V.N. Shimanovsky ".
