Azovstal received a crystal tower

According to the results of 2011, the winners and laureates of the Mariupol Tower 2011 contest were awarded in Mariupol. Prizes and diplomas marked the most significant decisions, successful implemented projects and social initiatives.

The traditional participant in this competition - the Azovstal plant did not stand aside. Over the thirteen -year history of the existence of the competition, the plant has repeatedly become the winner and laureate of various competitive nominations. This time, Azovstal took first place in the “Opening of the Year” nomination with the project “Mastering the production of rail steel by converter”. In the nomination "Socio-responsible enterprise of large and medium-sized businesses" the plant received a laureate diploma.

In August 2011, the plant received a production certificate and a certificate of compliance with the rails made of converter steel issued by the State Committee of Ukraine for the Certification of Railway Transport (Ukrsepropr), as well as production certificates and certificates of compliance with sort of rental, laying and lining.

The social responsibility of the enterprise confirmed the withdrawal in 2011 at the Azovstal plant of the Marten production. The implementation of this project made it possible to reduce the technogenic load and reduce emissions by 4 thousand tons, reduce the placement of Marten slag and eliminate the discharge of wastewater after the 3rd water supply of the plant. In parallel with the closure of the Marten production as soon as possible - in just three months - the plant developed and successfully tested the production technology of steel railway rails produced in converter. The transition to advanced production technology allowed the company to reduce operating costs, energy consumption and increased the efficiency of work.
