Azovstal plans to improve air quality in Mariupol

Azovstal metallurgical plant is one of the main sources of environmental pollution in this area. The company was built long before the problems of environmental protection became relevant. Currently, the main task of the plant should be the introduction of modern treatment facilities. There is a "Environmental Protection and Health Program of Mariupol, 2011-2020." The program provides for reconstruction in agglomeration production and introduction of dry gas cleaning. The project is designed for the period from 2015 to 2020. The expected effect is a decrease in dust emissions by 1560 tons per year, CO - by 1318 tons per year. It is planned to modernize and replace the treatment facilities in domestic production. In 2012, work will be performed to replace the thumbnail, overhaul of the system of aspiration of the foundry and the whiper premises of the domain furnace. It is also planned to the implementation of electrical work at the unit of a domain furnace for replacing high -voltage cables. The overall effect of the reconstruction will be a decrease in emissions by 1496 tons per year.
