For 4 months, the import of metal rolling into Ukraine increased by 55.5%

Analysts of the Marketing Center of Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company JSC conducted an analysis of the import of metal production products into Ukraine for January - April of the current year compared to the same time interval of 2011. The economic analysis showed that in 4 months of 2012, imports increased by 55.5% and in absolute numbers amounted to 746.8 tons.

In the structure of the imported metal rolling, a pipe workpiece leads, and is a little more than a third of the total metal rolling in Ukraine - 33.7%, for comparison of the last 4 months of last year 35.6% had these products. During the analyzed period, the supply of a hot -rolled sheet from 12.5% ​​to 22.5% increased, a hot rolled circle - from 7.8% to 9%, cold -rolled, on the contrary, significantly decreased from 8.5% to 7.3% this year. The galvanized sheet also lost its position a little, its imports decreased by a whole percentage and amounts to 9.7%. The importing of the rocker is gaining momentum (from 0.2% increased to 1.5%), reinforcement (from 0.8% to 3.3%).

For the exporters of pipe blanks in Ukraine, for 4 -hay people in 2012, there were the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant (11.3%) and Oskol EMK (85.8%), and the main importer of Ukraine was the Interpipe group, in the percentage of their imports is 78.3%in the total structure of all deliveries. The hot -rolled sheet on the territory of Ukraine in April of this year was mainly supplied by three manufacturers: Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant (57.2%), Severstal (31.2%), the Novolipetsky Metallurgical Plant (4.3%). The main importer was again the Interpipe group (42%), the Module plant (23.5%) and the Kryukovsky Engineering Plant (12.7), while, according to analysts, the proportion of metallurgical enterprises in the import of the metal production decreased.

Most of the fears of Ukrainian manufacturers of steel and galvanized metal rolling are associated with the planned decrease in customs duties and an increase in the volume of imports of steel products to Ukraine, which will also entail increased demand for working shoes at enterprises.
