The metallurgists of the Donetsk region began to reduce the production of cast iron, which will lead to a decrease in coal demand. This was stated by the chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Antatoly Bliznyuk, the polemic reports.

He illustrated his words with an example of stopping at the Ilyich plant of another Marten stove. Today, the plant operates only one furnace of four available. In pre -crisis times, six Martenovsky furnaces worked at the plant, two of which were stopped and dismantled for the subsequent replacement for converter production last year. The production of cast iron is reduced by 30% compared to the previous two months.
And cast iron, this is a coke. Tomorrow there will be the situation that has already been: to hand over the coals anyway just to hand over, ”said Bliznyuk.

Vladimir Boyko described the situation in the industry and at the plant as extremely complicated. The rise in prices for the products of metallurgists, which was observed in March and April, already in May gave way to a sharp drop in demand. As a result - today the June portfolio of orders has not yet been formed at the plant.

Today, only one Martenovskaya stove is working at the Ilyich MMK, the production of cast iron in the blasting at a level of 10 -11 thousand tons instead of 14 thousand tons in early May, the camp - 1700 and slabing - 1150 were transferred to two -shift work. After the repair ends in the same mode, there will be a camp - 3000.
