Ukraine refuses to introduce duties on the import of Russian steel ropes

Украина отказывается вводить пошлины на импорт российских стальных канатов
The Interdepartmental Commission of International Trade decided not to introduce duties on the Russian import of steel ropes and cables. The decision is argued in the commission by the inconsistency of the national interests of Ukraine.

In January last year, the commission began an anti -dumping investigation on complaints of Stalkanat and Silur in relation to Russian products. The Ministry of Industrial Policy announced restrictive measures following the results of the investigation.

Russian manufacturers of steel ropes have positively reacted to the news about the refusal of our country to introduce duties. They calculated the decision of the interdepartmental commission fair, and such that they observe the interests of Ukrainian companies, as well as end consumers of steel ropes.

Ukrainian manufacturers of metizes associate this decision with agreements with the Russian Federation on the non -expression of duties on Ukrainian cold -rolled rental.

Recall that Russia refused to introduce duties on Ukrainian imports of cold -rolled rental. Ukraine decided to establish quotas for the volume of supplies over the past few years. A similar solution can also be expected for other types of products.

The market participants talk among themselves about the abandonment of duties on Russian products. Recently, the increase in the import of Chinese dumbbells threatens the Ukrainian market with a loss of about 20% of the market. Therefore, in order to maintain market positions, Stalkanat and Silur are determined to seek anti -dumping measures in relation to the import of Chinese deductible products.

In mid -July, companies turned to the Ministry of Economics with a statement to introduce mandatory product certification, otherwise cheap Chinese imports will completely displace Ukrainian manufacturers from their own market.

The Ministry of Economics refused to inform about the intention to introduce a fee for Chinese metizes, since the investigation of the commission has not yet been started.
