Export of scrap metal from Ukraine has grown one and a half times

Largely due to the increase in world prices for steel rental and, accordingly, the Ukrainian exporters of steel scrap increased the shipments for export by one and a half times compared to last year - up to two hundred thousand tons from the beginning of the year.

Recall that the government approved quota to export scrap metal from the country of 900,000 tons. It turns out that for the first half of the year it was not chosen and a third of the volumes of ferrous metal scrap volumes. The main buyer of scrap from Ukraine became Türkiye - 80% of the volume of steel scrap was purchased by it.

Türkiye has been and remains the main consumer of Ukrainian recyclables over the past five years, maintaining the purchase prices for scrap metal at an attractive level of transportation costs.

The price of the domestic market of Ukraine is at the level of 325 US dollars per ton from the beginning of the year, in the Chinese market 440 - 450 US dollars per ton, but there is no less than $ 100 of dollars there and to shut up.
