Zaporizhstal has passed under the control of Russia

Запорожсталь перешла под контроль России
The largest metallurgical enterprise of Ukraine "Zaporizhstal" has passed under the control of Russia.

Rosia companies have long been interested in not only Moscow artificial marble , but also the Ukrainian metallurgical industry. According to the Ukrainian Pravda, the sale of Zaporizhstali was completed, and the combination was marked by a tough conflict of old owners with Rinat Akhmetov.

The Midland Resources Holding LTD, registered in the offshore zone on the British Island of Gernssey, was a majority shareholder of Zaporizhstali. The final owners of the enterprise were a native of Dnepropetrovsk, Eduard Shifrin, together with a Canadian citizen Alex Schneider, as well as their partners. Their desire to sell the entire “Zaporizhstal” became public in 2010.

Rinat Akhmetov did not hide his interest in "Zaporizhstal". To purchase the plant, he went to the consortium with the South Korean Corporation Posco. In parallel, the plant was allegedly interested in Russian oligarchs Roman Abramovich and Alisher Usmanov.

Informed sources on the terms of anonymity told Ukrainian Truth the dramatic story of the sale of the plant, which ended in May.

So, at first the owners “Zaporizhstal” concluded a protocol on intentions with structures related to the Russian State “Vnesianobank”. However, Rinat Akhmetov was able to kill $ 1.2 billion proposed by Russians. According to the sources, the Akhmetov groups concluded not just a protocol about intent, but the contract of sale "Zaporizhstal". Moreover, the owners of the plant received 50 million dollars of the deposit. Indirect confirmations of this fact were in the press. On May 12, the Zaporizhzhya governor Boris Petrov confirmed the sale of "Zaporizhstal" Holding Akhmetov and the South Korean Posco. However, further, under unknown circumstances, the owners “Zaporizhstal” wanted to return 50 million dollars of a deposit back and terminate the agreement. At the same time, they agreed to pay for 50 million dollars of a fine.

It turned out that the Russian buyer proposed a price that allowed the shareholders to “Zaporizhstal” to earn even more - even taking into account the sanctions that had to be covered before Akhmetov. After which another agreement was concluded - again with the structures related to the Russian state "Vnesheconombank". Sources report that the final price of Zaporizhstal was $ 1.7 billion.

Such a finale of the struggle for Zaporizhstal was amazed by Akhmetov. According to sources, his lawyers filed a lawsuit against the London court, who arrested the combination of the plant to consider the case in essence. Now the question is in the appeal.

The events around "Zaporizhsta" can be a component of a more global
