China's stainless steel production hits record high

China's stainless steel production was 24.9378 million tonnes in 2016, up 15.56% year-on-year, to another record high.

Production of Cr-Ni steel (300 series) amounted to 12.691 million tonnes in China, an increase of 13.22% compared to the same period in 2015, accounting for 50.89% of the total output. Production of Cr steel (series 400) amounted to 4.8456 million tonnes, an increase of 22.08% compared to the same period in 2015, accounting for 19.43% of the total. Production of Cr-Mn steel (series 200) amounted to 7.3179 million tonnes, an increase of 15.65% compared to the same period in 2015, which is 29.34% of total production.
