Rosatom creates a superconducting industry

The State Corporation "Rosatom" is working on the implementation of the project "Innovative energy/superconducting industry". The completion of the project is scheduled for 2015. By this time, according to the representative of the corporation, prototypes based on new technologies will be completed.

Particular attention is paid to the development of experimental equipment using superconducting technologies. Samples of electric motors have already been created, the work of which is based on high -temperature superconductivity. In the near future, it is planned to perform experienced generators, current border guards and transformers. Generators with a capacity of up to 1 MW will find their application in wind energy.

Rosatom plans not only the creation of prototypes, but also the development of all technical documentation necessary for the industrial production of this equipment. The implementation of the project is aimed at increasing the efficiency of electricity.
