Irkutsk Aluminum Plant OJSC (Irkaz, part of OK Rusal) intends to start the release of new alloys - aluminum caps with zirconium and rare -earth metals - by mid -2013, the director of the Vostok aluminum division Vladimir Polin reported on Monday to reporters, the Prime Agency reports. Currently, OJSC "Irkutsk Aluminum Plant" with an accelerated pace conducts the re -equipment of the cashway workshop for the subsequent production of alloys of aluminum cap with zirconium and rare -earth metals. Modernization work will be completed in November 2012.

The release of new alloys is scheduled for the second half of 2013. After the preparation of the equipment, technologies will be developed for industrial production of alloys at the Irkutsk aluminum plant, which is part of OK Rusal. The main consumer of these products are cable plants in the Russian market. The monthly issue will be about 1.5 thousand tons. And to enter the foreign market, it is still necessary to work out the quality composition of the produced alloys and study demand for it.

In terms of its characteristics, such an alloy is not inferior to copper, since it withstands large temperature changes, but harace is cheaper in production. It is also assumed that nannaya products will interest consumers in the Asian market. Investments in the project for the production of high -resistance katan will amount to 225 million rubles.
