The state oil company Naftogaz of Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation to compensate for the assets left over to Crimea, the company said in a statement. At the same time, the press service of Naftogaz reported that independent foreign members of the supervisory board of the state fuel concern Naftogaz of Ukraine are leaving the company due to the lack of reforms and political pressure on its activities.
The statement said that Naftogaz - and its six subsidiaries - are demanding $ 5 billion in compensation from Russia for the losses they have suffered in connection with the annexation of the peninsula. "The losses of the Naftogaz group associated with the occupation of Crimea are currently estimated by experts at $ 5 billion, and a court decision is expected by the end of 2018," the Ukrainian company said.
