The leadership of Zaporizhstal focuses on the social and environmental program of further actions. The first steps have already been taken in this direction. For employees of the enterprise, gas analyzers were purchased, which should prevent poisoning with domain gas.
At all metallurgical enterprises of the world, poisoning with domain gas quite often leads to death, since poisoning occurs very quickly. And the gas itself has practically no color or smell. In production areas there are fire extinguishers and all the necessary means of fire protection. More than one hundred new air conditioners have been established. And in the near future it is planned to start repairing household premises and bathrooms belonging to the workshops.
The problems of the negative impact of production on the environment will be solved in two directions. Firstly, by 2017 it is planned to complete the previously started project for installing gas-cleaning filters on agglomeration machines. Secondly, in 24 months, it is planned to implement the transition of the harbor compartment of the plant from sulfuric acid to salt and provide a completely closed cycle of its regeneration.
