Following the Romanian Arcelormittal Galati, the Evraz group stopped production at its Czech Czech Metallurgical Plant Evraz Vitkovice Steel. Promotive camps today are finalizing a previously cast workpiece and are still working.
The closure of the production was the result of a worsening situation in European steel markets and the Optimization of production processes at the EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL plant. The time for which the steel smelting is stopped is not determined.
Crisis phenomena in the EU economy negatively affected the heavy industry of Europe, forcing companies and state institutions to limit investments in equipment production and infrastructure projects in order to optimize debt obligations. The Chairman of the Association of Manufacturers of Europe told Reuters about the possible reduction in metallurgical enterprises of the European Union for 20 years by three quarters due to deterioration in demand, constant growth of costs and cheap imports.
