The ongoing decrease in production volumes at Ukrainian metallurgical plants pulls down the entire economy of the country. The fall in the production of steel and rental in September by 4.5% compared to the same period in 2011, slowed the growth of the total industrial production of Ukraine, reports www.atissteel.ru .
The situation in the metallurgical industry was commented by the analyst of the Bank "ERST Bank" Maryan Zavlotsky:
"Ukrainian manufacturers are faced with growing competition in traditional sales markets in the Middle East. Sales also did not contribute to political instability in the region. Iran’s currency under the pressure of international sanctions over the past two months has lost two thirds of its value to the US dollar. The Syria economy is in free fall due to civil war."
As the analyst noted, the decline in industrial production can cause a decline in other sectors of the national economy. The third and fourth quarter will be marked by the fall of the country's real GDP and the state of the Ukrainian economy will deteriorate. "Formally, the economy of Ukraine will be in a recession," said Maryan Zavlotsky.
The metallurgists of Ukraine are to blame for the deterioration of indicators of industrial production of the country as a whole
