Ukraine has entered the top ten countries of steel production leaders

The World Steel Association (WSA) has published a rating of steel manufacturers. According to the results of work in the month of September this year, Ukrainian metallurgists took the tenth place of the rating with a result of 2 million 708 thousand tons of steel. In general, the metallurgical industry of Ukraine showed a negative result in September 2012 compared to September last year. The fall was 8.3%. The rating of manufacturers' countries in September, according to WSA, is as follows:

• China smelted 57 million 950 thousand tons of steel, production growth was 0.6%;
• Japan produced 8 million 798 thousand tons of steel, the fall was recorded at 1%;
• The United States has a total of 7 million 15 thousand tons, a fall by 3%;
• Russia produced 6 million 234 thousand tons, production growth was 15.1%;
• India smelted 6 million 155 thousand tons of steel, production growth is 5.6%;
• South Korea produced 5 million 602 thousand tons of steel, growth of 1.8%;
• Germany manufactured 3 million 563 thousand tons of steel, a drop in production by 2.2%;
• Türkiye smelted 3 million 52 thousand tons, growth by 1.9%;
• Brazil produced 2 million 848 thousand tons, falling 0.4%;
• Ukraine smelted 2 million 708 thousand tons, falling by 8.3%

Thus, the largest increase in steel smelting was recorded in the Russian Federation, and the largest drop in production volumes among world leaders in Ukraine. In general, global production in September this year amounted to 123 million 637 thousand tons of steel, which is 0.01% more than in September last year. According to the results of 2011, Ukraine occupied the eighth line of the international rating. This year, Brazil and Türkiye escaped ahead.
